George W Bush Poetry Competition Enter Now!

Help celebrate "Bush Poetry" of all descriptions by entering the George W Bush Poetry Competition.

The competition is open to everyone of all ages. It's fun and it's easy!

Choose which category you'd like to enter. You can enter in both categories and as many times as you like. Just fill out the entry form telling us your name, contact number and age if under 18.

Category One
Write an original poem of 200 words or less on the theme 'George W. Bush'. You can write your poem on the entry form then drop it into the competition boxes at Bowral Library or you can also post it to the South Coast Writers' Centre at PO Box 32, Wollongong East 2520. You can also enter on line at www.booktown.com.au Entries for Category One must be received by 5pm Thursday 27th May.

Category Two
Construct an original poem of 100 words or less using one of the following three Bushisms as the first line of verse:
1. 'They misunderestimate me."
2. 'It's clearly a budget. It's got a lot of numbers in it.'
3. 'I understand small business growth. I used to be one.'
You can write your poem on the entry form then drop it into the competition box Bowral Library or you can also post it to the South Coast Writers' Centre at PO Box 32, Wollongong East 2520. You can also enter on line at www.booktown.com.au If posting or emailing entries, they must be received by 5pm Thursday 27th May. However there will be a box provided at the Festival of the Book for Category Two (in the Zine Fair marquee) entries on Sunday 30th May.

Judging
A panel of writers will read selected entries and announce the winners at 3pm on Sunday 30 May in the Henrietta Rose Room, Bowral Town Hall.
